The Myrtle Beach Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department supports a variety of initiatives that encourage wellness, recreation, and appreciation of nature, including tennis, water sports, dog parks, and farmers markets.

Horry County Parks and Recreation operates more than 30 parks on over 618 acres of land, offering 39 baseball/softball fields, 15 tennis courts, 26 playgrounds, and 2 disc golf courses. Horry County Parks and Recreation Department also maintains 27 boat landings, while Horry County Public Works and Engineering maintains 22 beach accesses and an expanding bicycle and pedestrian network.
